Arable Food Industry Council (AFIC)
From the field to the fork
Arable food is the product of processing grains and seeds and includes wheat and all products made from it, other cereal crops and all products made from them, including animal feed for the pork, poultry and dairy industries and seeds that create pastures for dairy and meat.
AFIC was formed in the late ’90s in response to a growing need for a “peak industry body” to act as:
- The public face of the arable food industry
- First port of call for government and other bodies
- Roundtable for discussion on current industry issues
- A “drafting gate” for issues requiring specific action
It is the body with critical mass capable of collective industry action where necessary and appropriate.
